I just logged into this account for the first time in months. Found 75+ spam comments I had to filter. Cringed at the 2-post count in 2014 (165 in 2011 after starting this blog in May, 86 in 2012… 13 in 2013). Got to writing.
It’s cold in my living room – fall is definitely here. The Mets game is on in the background. The Boy isn’t home – this is just my nightly routine now, too. Mets and Grey’s Anatomy. Our routine. It has a nice, probably-never-been-paired-before, balance. Continue reading “Fall”-ing Into Routines
Last night, a friend of the Boy’s I’ve never met quoted a blog post I wrote more than a year ago. Because she too was living with a boy, and it resonated with her.
And then she lamented the fact that we’re not Facebook friends so she hadn’t seen or followed new posts – and I didn’t have the heart to tell her there’d barely been a dozen in the year+ that I’d written that.
So, we’re back.

And then four months went by without a post.
You see, I’ve been really, really busy. Non-stop busy. Like, every morning and every night – you might as well not even try inviting me anywhere, it’s that bad.
You see, I’ve been rereading the Harry Potter series? I finally got to the point where, six point five years after the last book’s release, I wasn’t understanding the Harry Potter references in the comments on BuzzFeed anymore. I couldn’t remember what spell went to what and while I could remember what major characters died when, I couldn’t remember why or how.
So obviously, 2014 priorities = Harry Potter. Continue reading 2014.
Two years ago, I was running around Paris with no agenda or obligations. I was thankful for a lot of things (none of which have changed in the two years since). People, opportunity, luck.
Here are some new ones for 2013. This isn’t a complete list – I’m thankful for having four days starting almost now for NOT NEEDING TO BE ON THE COMPUTER! Continue reading Thanks
When the WordPress people says your dot com is about to expire, they really mean it. We almost lost control of You’ve Got Nae this week… but we’re back!
So what’s new, everyone?
It’s 11:12 p.m. and I’m following the exact opposite advice I’d my clients, by deciding to blog after everyone goes to bed. Because when you want to write content people want to read, you want them to read it while they have their eyes closed (said no content strategist ever).
It’s 11:14 p.m. and I’ve just gotten home from art class #5. The Boy set me up with oil painting lessons for my birthday in August – little did everyone know just how terrible I am at drawing (okay, I may have had an idea). So night 1, we started with “This is a pencil.” Night 2 we worked on me not dragging my arm through my charcoal sketches so much. Night 3 I actually got to use a paintbrush.

I turned 24 today.
This blog also got its 50,000th hit today.
It’s a good day.
It’s been so long since I’ve blogged for myself, I had a hard time remembering my WordPress password. That could’ve been a crisis.
Distracted – Since I last posted on this blog, I’ve gained the ability to add a contact form, polls, and so much more! I just might have to start doing this again!
24. What’s this year going to be like? Continue reading Twenty-four
I saw a girlfriend this weekend who was disappointed I don’t blog anymore. For myself, at least – blogging for others is my job at work. She said she understood. I’d disappeared into the happy place of “Boyfriend World.”
You know, that annoying place where your friends go and are suddenly rendered unable to return phone calls, make lunch dates without checking her boyfriend’s schedule, or stay in a conversation for more than five minutes before saying the words “We” and “Oh that reminds me of this one time with Boy, when” (proceeds to share something completely irrelevant that makes her smile at the end of her story and stare off into space while you stare at her and resume eating your chicken tenders).
